Frequently Asked Questions
What to know about working with Seattle headshot photographer Charles Cotugno Photography.
Q: Why do I need a professional headshot?
A: You need a professional headshot because how you present yourself is how others will perceive you. They make that judgment in just a few milliseconds of viewing your headshot. If you don’t immediately strike them as professional, approachable, and capable of providing them with the best service possible, they will move on. Having a well-crafted professional headshot will greatly increase the chances of being contacted by your target audience.
Q: What else will a professional headshot do for me?
A: You will stand out from at least 90% of everyone else. That is because most people use unprofessional or old images that don’t live up to the quality of services they provide.
Q: Where should I use my new headshot?
A: Anywhere your headshot can provide you with a competitive advantage. That includes you website, on social media, profiles for professional organizations, marketing collateral, etc.
Q: How long is a headshot session?
A: On average, a headshot in my Seattle studio lasts anywhere from ninety minutes to two hours. That includes the photography and the image selection process. However, you can select sessions as short as fifteen minutes or go as long as four hours, depending on your needs. Click here to view the different options.
Q: Can I try different outfits?
A: Yes. I encourage you to bring a variety of looks to try in front of the camera. Somethings the outfits you think will work best won’t look quite right and the ones you’re unsure about end up looking the best. Just be aware of the amount of time you have reserved. You don’t want to spend most of your time changing and leave little time for the actual photography.
Q: Do you have a hair and makeup artist available?
A: Yes! I work with some of Seattle’s best makeup artists. When booking online, select the option including your hair and makeup artist or let us know if you book by phone or email. Note: hair and makeup are only offered with the Mini and Professional sessions.
Q: How long before I get my new headshots and what will I receive?
A: Your new retouched headshots will be delivered to you as two different files within five business days. (But don’t be surprised if they show up much sooner!) One file will be a high resolution, full frame file you can crop and resize as needed. The other file will be cropped and resized for use as your LinkedIn profile photo.
Q: How much does this cost?
A: Pricing begins at $375 for a fifteen-minute session and one retouched image. Click here to learn about other offerings and pricing.
Q: Can I have the images that I don’t select for retouching?
A: For quality assurance, I do not distribute any images that have not been through my retouching process.
Q: Do you offer corporate plans?
A: Yes! Please click here or call to learn about on-site or in-studio services as well as my new hire program.
